LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks and Stockton Ports combined to score 32 runs on Friday night as Lancaster came away with a 19-13 victory in the opening game of a four game series at The Hangar.

Telvin Nash led the offensive onslaught with two home runs and seven RBIs, both season highs for the JetHawks this season.

Lancaster jumped on Ports starter Sergio Perez in the first inning. Down 2-0, Andrew Aplin drove in a run with a single and M.P. Cokinos doubled in two before Nash came up and smashed his first homer. The three-run shot put the JetHawks up, 5-2.

Matt Duffy hit a solo home run later in the inning, his first since April 14, to cap a six-run first inning.

Ports shortstop Addison Russell hit a two-run homer in the second inning to bring the Ports back within two. Russell finished the night a single shy of a cycle. He totaled three RBIs on the night.

Joe Sclafani and Andrew Aplin started the second inning with singles and Cokinos drove a double to the wall in the right field to drive them both in. After the double, T.J. Walz came in to relieve Perez and face Nash.

Nash lined a 3-0 pitch from Walz out to right field for his second home run of the game to put the JetHawks up 10-4.

Lancaster added six more runs in the fourth inning. After Walz loaded the bases, Omar Duran came in to the game to face Chris Epps. Duran, who had retired the last 16 batters he had faced, gave up a bases-clearing double to Epps.

Aplin hit a bases clearing triple in the fifth inning to extend the lead. He drove in four runs to bring his league-high to 33.

The Ports hit two two-run home runs off piggy-back starter Chris Devenski (3-1) in the ninth inning to inch closer. Devenski, who allowed six runs over four innings, picked up the win.

JetHawks starter Brady Rodgers lasted 4 2/3 innings and allowed seven runs (five earned) with four strikeouts.

Each Lancaster hitter scored a run in the game and each batter picked up a hit except for Nolan Fontana. The shortstop went 0-for-3 with three walks. The JetHawks set a new season-high with 11 walks in the game.

The JetHawks (20-15) take on the Ports (18-17) in the second game of the series on Saturday night at 7:00 pm. The first 1,000 fans in attendance receive a JetHawks hat courtesy of Desert Christian Schools.
