
JetHawks Honor Record-Setting AVC Softball Team

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Antelope Valley College Marauders softball team, fresh off their best season in school history, will be honored Tuesday, June 6 in a pre-game ceremony. The celebration will be capped off with each member of the team taking part in the throwing out of the ceremonial first pitch.
The Marauders set a school record with a 47-7 season. Coached by Cindy Vargas, they were a perfect 21-0 in the Foothill Conference, won the Southern Section Regional Tournament, and advanced to the State Tournament for the first time. The Marauders finished their outstanding season as the third best team in California. Individual honors came as well, as, in another first, four Marauders players were named as All-Americans.
Game time for Tuesday's game is 6:30 as the JetHawks host the Bakersfield Blaze.
