STOCKTON, Calif. - The JetHawks were held to two runs for the second straight game and fell to the Stockton Ports, 4-2, for the second straight day on Tuesday afternoon at Banner Island Ballpark.

Shaeffer Hall (1-0) allowed two runs over five innings to pick up the win and a quartet of Ports relievers combined to shut down Lancaster's offense the rest of the way.

Starter Aaron West (2-2) took the loss for the JetHawks. He allowed a three-run home run to Wade Kirkland in the third inning to put the JetHawks in an early hole.

Lancaster came back with two runs in the top of the fourth. Joe Sclafani led off with a walk and Andrew Aplin bunted for a single to get things started. Brandon Meredith singled to right field to score Sclafani and send Aplin to third. Telvin Nash followed with a sacrifice fly for Lancaster's second and final run.

West allowed three runs on five hits over five innings of work. His only tough inning was the third.

T.J. Geith relieved him and after tossing a scoreless sixth inning, he gave up an unearned run in the seventh. Rashun Dixon led off with walk and moved to third on a single. He later scored on a Tyler Heineman passed ball.

Lancaster's first two hitters in the eighth inning reached base to put the potential tying run on base but they were unable to score. Sclafani struck out swinging for the first out, Aplin popped to first for the second out and with Meredith at the plate, Chris Epps was caught in a run-down after being caught off of second on a pickoff move by pitcher Pedro Vidal.

Meredith, Preston Tucker and Nash all popped out in the ninth inning against Jonathan Joseph to end the game. Joseph picked up his third save of the season.

The JetHawks (35-23) will try to avoid their first sweep of the season when they take on the Ports (32-26) in the final game of the series. First pitch is at 7:05 pm.

Lancaster will send Brady Rodgers (5-1, 3.28) to the mound against Tanner Peters (6-3, 4.41). Rodgers has not allowed a run over his last 15 innings pitched.
