Jersey Express News Release

Madison, NJ - The Jersey Express Professional Basketball Team, again participated in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, October 19th, at the Mack-Cali Business Complex in Parsippany, NJ.

There were an estimated 8,000 participants at this year's event. Walkers raised money to help find a cure for breast cancer. Research has shown that 1 out of every 3 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. It is a very treatable disease, if detected early. They shared the importance of getting tested, and that women over 40 should have regular mammograms. Many walkers where there as survivors, or showing there love and support for loved ones lost to the disease.

Jersey Express team President, Marsha Blount stated; this yearly event is important to me, because I am over 40, and my family has been affected by this disease. We will continue to do what we can to get as much information out, and to draw as much attention to the cause as possible.

Express players Lance Hazel, Angel Branch, Stephen Butler, Shawn Kennedy and Assistant Head Coach Quaasim Austin were there to help entertain the kids, and provide information. "This isn't work to me, I'm glad I came out to support the cause" stated Branch.
