Charlotte Crossovers News Release
Charlotte, NC. After months of deliberation, the new ABA expension team in Charlotte, North Carolina that will begin play in 2009 has selected a new name and the colors for the team. They will be called the Charlotte Crossovers and the colors will be Carolina Blue, Black and White.
In the fall of 2009, 12 players will take the court for the beginning of their inautural season. "Prospective and incoming players are looking for an identity and they need to know what the team colors and name are," said Crossovers Vice President, Jawane Martin. "The new team will help build relationships with current as well as incoming players because they're now unified under one identity selected by our entire community. A crossover is a changing from one direction to another, which is exactly what we're looking to do here in Charlotte. We want to introduce the community to the fast-paced competitive theme of the ABA."
"I am so pleased that Charlotte has elected to resurrect affordable family oriented basketball," said Director of Public Relations, Domenick Nati. "I'm looking forward to inviting local sports fans to come out to the games without dreading the amount of the ticket and other expenses. Our ABA team will truly be a 'crossover' from what we're used to seeing here in profesisonal basketball."
The Charlotte Crossovers was established this year under the umbrella of Nitram Enterprises. Nitram Enterprises is a multifunctional corporation founded by three executives in the Carolinas, including CEO Jawane Martin, President Donell Carter and Vice President Michele Pierre. The goal of the team is to bring competitive basketball to Charlotte at affordable prices and commit to give back to the local community.
