Rockford, Ill.- The 2005-06 regular season is wrapping up and the Rockford IceHogs have only four remaining games on the home schedule before the postseason kicks off. This weekend, the Hogs will host two of those contests beginning on Friday night with the IceHogs 7th Annual Jersey Auction. The IceHogs will also play its final road regular season contest on Saturday in Muskegon.
The Quad City Mallards make their final visit to the MetroCentre during the regular season at 7:05 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs T-shirt featuring Lt. Hammy, the logo for this season's auction, courtesy of Saturn of Rockford, Axberg Heating, Dental Dimensions and 13WREX. One lucky fan will also have a chance to win a Saturn Sky from Saturn of Rockford
The IceHogs will wear special jerseys honoring the United States Military. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off at a live auction at the MetroCentre. All proceeds from the event will go to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation. The IceHogs Charitable Foundation will then in return distribute the proceeds to several not-for-profit organizations in the Rockford area including, but not limited to, MDA, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Rockford area Boys and Girls Clubs, Northern Illinois Hospice, Jr. IceHogs and Veterans Memorial.
To wrap up the weekend, the IceHogs will complete a home-and-home series with the Muskegon Fury at the MetroCentre on Sunday. The game begins at 3:05 p.m. and the first 500 kids 12-and-under to the game will receive an IceHogs puck from Insurance King. Also, don't forget your skates, as it's another "Skate With The Hogs" following the game.

In other IceHogs news, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson announced on Thursday that the club has signed goaltender Brendan Cuthbert as the team's Emergency Backup goalie. Cuthbert played for the Missouri River Otters this season before being released earlier this week.
In his first pro season, Cuthbert played in 30 games with Missouri and had a record of 6-18-1. Cuthbert backstopped the Otters to a 3-2 shootout win over the IceHogs March 19 in Missouri. Last season, the goalie was named MVP of the Royal Bank Cup in the Canadian Junior "A" Hockey League, leading the Weyburn Red Wings to the 2005 Royal Bank Cup.
