Jax Unveil 2009 Dance Team

PORTLAND, August 18, 2008 - In front of an extensive panel of judges that featured Fox 12 personalities Stephanie Kralevich, Sophie Soong and Kevin Coari, Portland LumberJax Community Relations Director and future-hall-of-fame goalie Dallas Eliuk and Durante Lambert, Artistic Director of the Detail, 62 hopeful dancers auditioned for 20 spots on the 2009 Portland LumberJax Dance Team this past weekend at the Georgia Pacific Room inside of Memorial Coliseum.

Today, Dance Team Director Melissa and Dance Team Coordinator Kristin announced the 2009 Portland LumberJax Dance Team.

Of the 20 dancers selected, 10 are returning dancers from the 2008 season. Adrienne, Amy, Billie, Caroline, Jessica, Jill, Lindsay, Mary Ellen, Tina and Vickie were all part of the squad last year.

The other 10 dancers are first time members. They include: Amanda G., Brittany S., CaMicha, Cristi, Hayley, Jenafer, Michelle, Stephanie, Vanessa and Wisa.

"The level of talent at the auditions this year was amazing," said Melissa. "It made the judges decision a very difficult one. All of the women were well rounded, talented, beautiful dancers. I wish we could take everyone."

"I want to thank all of the dancers, judges and volunteers for making the auditions a success," added Kristin. "We are quite blessed to have such a strong dance community in the Portland community."
