Portland Lumberjax News Release

PORTLAND, February 1, 2008 - Nearly 20 percent of Oregonians have needed assistance from Oregon Food Bank. Many of those people are children as well. That's why the Portland LumberJax have partnered with Oregon Food Bank for Kids Day. On Sunday February 17, you can join the Jax and Oregon Food Bank by donating non-perishable food items at the Jax game at 3 p.m. against the Edmonton Rush at the Rose Garden Arena.

Collection buckets will be setup inside the Rose Garden. Everyone who brings a food item for donation will be given a buy-one-get-one-free ticket voucher. It's a win-win situation that benefits everyone. What could be better than donating to a great cause and then seeing the Jax dispose of the rival Rush?

Oregon Food Bank is a nonprofit, charitable organization. It is the hub of a statewide network of more than 919 hunger-relief agencies serving Oregon and Clark County, Washington. Oregon Food Bank also works to eliminate the root causes of hunger through education and advocacy.
