WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released forward Jarrett Burton from his professional tryout contract.

Burton will join the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), the team he led in points at the time of his PTO signing with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton back on Feb. 6, 2016. An undrafted free agent out of Clarkson University, the second-year pro had 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points during the regular season with Wheeling.

The 24-year-old from Echo Bay, Ont. accrued two goals for two points in 23 games with the Penguins this season.
