Saint John Riptide News Release

The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by ROGERS, are pleased to announce that Jaren Jackson has agreed to return to Saint John to coach the Mill Rats for the upcoming season.

The Mill Rats, along with the Halifax Rainmen, the Quebec Kebs, and four expansion teams, have joined to form the new National Basketball League of Canada. The new league is set to tip off in November with a 36 game schedule concluding in early March.

Jackson guided the Mill Rats through their inaugural season in Saint John to within one game of a playoff berth despite a bevy of injuries throughout the year.

"We are thrilled to have Coach Jackson back on the bench for the second season, we have something to build on going forward now and we are certain we will compete for a NBL Canada championship this season," stated Mill Rats President and General Manager Ian McCarthy. "He is a player's coach and was very popular with the fans and community here in Saint John."

Season Tickets for the Upcoming 2011 - 2012 season are now available for purchase at the Harbour Station Box Office.

Season ticket packages will include the ROGERS Slam Dunk Pre-Season game to be held at Harbour Station at a date to be confirmed.

Single tickets will go on sale effective October 17, 2011.
