St. John's Edge News Release
St. John's, NL - The NBL Canada announced the 2018-19 All-Rookie Team on Friday evening, with Jared Nickens of the St. John's Edge being named as a member of the team for his play throughout 2018-2019.
Nickens, appeared in 55 games for the Edge in his first full season of professional basketball. The New Jersey native averaged 7.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. Nickens shot, 38.5% from three-point range.
Jared Nickens was a heat check shooter all season for the Edge but stepped up in some clutch moments down the stretch to hit big triples when the team needed it. Nickens is well known for his time at the University of Maryland where he averaged over 40% shooting from three-point range over his four-years. He is also renowned for his viral video of the "running man challenge" which landed him and a teammate of his on the Ellen Show to perform the viral dance.
From the entire organization, we want to congratulate Jared on his selection to the All-Rookie team for the 2018-19 season.
