Joliet JackHammers News Release

JOLIET, IL - Jammer, the Joliet JackHammers loveable mascot, is no stranger to parades, but he was especially excited for today's parade honoring our nation's veterans in downtown Morris. The Joliet JackHammers 2010 Home Opener will be Friday, May 28th at 7:10pm against the Lake County Fielders, one of two Northern League expansion teams.

Jammer and other members of the Orange Crush Front Office staff made over 200 red, white, and blue ribbon pins to hand out marking this year's Veteran's Day. Every single one of the pins was distributed along with a schedule and invitation to the Block Wednesday Party on November, 25th.

"We were looking for a way to pay tribute and honor those men and women that have served our country," said Kelli Drechsel, Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator for the JackHammers. "Jammer and I encourage all of the people who received ribbons to wear them every day to show support for our troops both past and present."

LOOSE GRAVEL: Don't miss the "Block Wednesday" Street Party on November 25th. There will be food, beer, soda, and wine for sale. Other events will include a Bean Bag and Stick Ball Tourney along with a bonfire, a pie eating contest, 50/50 raffles, silent auction, ProShop Sale, hayrides and a bat burning with a blessing for 2010. For everyone's entertainment a DJ will be playing some tunes and for a small donation you can even catch a glimpse of a "Man Eating Turkey."

Tickets for this event can be purchased by stopping by the JackHammers office Monday-Friday from 9:00-5:30 or by purchasing them over the phone on a credit card.

Season tickets, group outings, and suites are available now. To take advantage of November's "Turkey & Tickets" specials, contact the JackHammers Ticket Department at 815.726.BALL (2255).
