HUNTSVILLE, AL - The af2 league office announced today that Tennessee Valley Vipers wide receiver/defensive back, Jerrian James, has been named Ironman of the Week for his performance in the 57-54 win over Cape Fear this past Saturday night.
James rushed one time for three yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. He also completed one pass to Andy Fuller for 17 yards and a touchdown on at trick play. He returned one kickoff for 19 yards and led the team in tackles with 9.0. He also recorded a pass break up and forced a fumble.
He is second in the team with 20 yards rushing on 10 carries and leads the team with three rushing touchdowns. He is fifth on the team with 19 receptions for 298 yards and is third with six receiving touchdowns. He leads the team with 12 kickoff returns for 240 yards. He is second on the team with 25.0 tackles and tied for second with five pass break ups. He has also recorded two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
He is the second Viper to receive Ironman of the Week honors this season. Ronney Daniels received the award on Week 7 at Bossier City.
The Vipers travel to Columbus, Ga. this weekend to take on the Wardogs. They return home on June 7 to battle with Wichita Stealth and have a rematch with the Wardogs on June 14. Both kickoffs are set for 7:30.
