Jalbert, Ward and Zywicki Honored

Colorado Mammoth defenseman Jay Jalbert was named the Week Twelve Overall and Defensive Player of the Week. Jalbert, a fourth-year veteran defender, scored seven points (4g, 3a) and collected twelve loose balls in a 15-11 road win over the Arizona Sting. Forward Ryan Ward of the Minnesota Swarm was named the Week Twelve Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Swarm to a 14-12 road win over the Portland LumberJax. Ward scored ten points (3g, 7a) and collected four loose balls in the win. San Jose Stealth rookie forward Jeff Zywicki scored five points (3g, 2a) and collected 12 loose balls in a 14-13 overtime victory over the Calgary Roughnecks and earns Week Twelve Rookie of the Week honors for his performance.

Colorado Mammoth defender Jay Jalbert earns his first weekly player awards of the 2006 season after leading the Mammoth to victory over the Arizona Sting, 14-12 on Saturday. Jalbert scored seven points on four goals and three assists and collected eleven loose balls in the win. The fourth-year veteran was named the Week Twelve Overall and Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the win.

Minnesota Swarm forward Ryan Ward was named the Offensive Player of the Week after tallying ten points on three goals and seven assists in a 14-12 road win over the Portland LumberJax on Saturday. Ward scored the game-tying goal in the fourth quarter of the Minnesota comeback victory. The second-year forward also scored a power-play goal and collected four loose balls in the victory. The award is Ward's first player award of the season.

San Jose Stealth rookie forward Jeff Zywicki earned his third Rookie of the Week honors of 2006, taking home the Week Twelve rookie honors. Zywicki scored five points on three goals and two assists and collected 12 loose balls in a 14-13 overtime home win over the Calgary Roughnecks.

Ryan Ward (Minnesota) - (3G, 7A, 10 Pts, 4 LB, PPG) scored three goals and added seven assists for a total of ten points, including a power-play goal, and also collected four loose balls in a 14-12 win over Portland.

DEFENSIVE AND OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jay Jalbert (Colorado) - (4G, 3A, 7Pts, 11LB) scored four goals and added three assists for a total of seven points, and also collected eleven loose balls in a 15-11 road win over Arizona.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jeff Zywicki (San Jose) - (3G, 2A, 5Pts, 12LB) scored three goals and added two assists for a total of five points, and also collected twelve loose balls in a 14-13 home win over Calgary.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's eleven member clubs.
