Utica, N.Y. - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced the first set of postseason awards for the 2018-2019 season on Wednesday, beginning with the All-MASL Honorable Mention team. Utica City F.C. defender Jake Schindler was named to the list of Honorable Mention performers.
Schindler recorded 11 points (5-6-11) and 12 shot blocks in 16 regular season games and two points (1-1-2) and one shot block in three playoff games. The defender was a critical piece of Utica's back line, playing big minutes as well as all special teams situations.
For the first time, voting for the MASL postseason awards was open to all MASL, players, General Managers and Head Coaches, in addition to select MASL Staff. Voting was based on regular season performance.
More postseason awards will be announced this week.
