
Jacome Throws A Gem For Toros

EDMONTON, CANADA - The Tucson Toros, (8-3) opened up a three game series in Edmonton with a 5-2 win over the Capitals, (11-9) Friday night.
Jason Jacome got the start for the Toros and he threw a gem as he only allowed four hits over his seven innings pitched. The veteran lefty gave up one run, fanned three Edmonton batters and improved to 3-2 on the season.
Danny Greenwalt and Ryan Price threw an inning each out of the pen, with Price picking up his sixth save of the season.
Toros second baseman Skip Adams led the Aztec attack as he went 3-5 at the plate. Adams also scored two runs and hit a double.
Jim Rushford and Junior Spivey each picked up a pair of base knocks in the game as Rushford went 2-4 and Spivey went 2-5. Each player also drove in a run in the Toros fourth consecutive win.
The two teams will hook up again tomorrow with a gametime of 6:00 pm Tucson time.
