Wichita Stealth News Release

Wichita, Kan. -- The Wichita Stealth announced today that the contract of Head Coach Land Jacobsen would not be renewed for the 2003 arenafootball2 season.

Jacobsen, the only coach in franchise history, completes a two-year run as head coach of the Stealth. Jacobsen compiled a regular season record of 13-19 (.406 winning percentage), and 0-1 in the postseason. Under Jacobsen, the Stealth finished 7-9 in 2001 and 6-10, (0-1 postseason) in 2002. Doubling as the defensive coordinator, Jacobsen's defense finished 21st in the league in total defense during the 2001 season, and finished sixth in the league during the 2002 season.

"We appreciate everything Land has done for the organization and the community, and we wish him well in the future," said Mike McCoy, Stealth general manager. "Land is a true friend and has worked very hard for this organization."

"I had an opportunity, and I'm very appreciative of that," said Jacobsen. "I have learned a great deal the past two years. I like Wichita and was real pleased with the treatment I got from the media, the fans, and the people. A nation-wide search for Jacobsen's successor will begin immediately, and the Stealth hope to have a new coach named within the next thirty days.

The Stealth will begin their third af2 season in April. Season tickets for the 2003 season are on sale now by calling the Stealth office at (316) 755-3307. For more ticket information log on to: www.wichitastealth.com.
