Odessa Jackalopes News Release
ODESSA, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are happy to announce Classic Rock 102.1 FM, KFZX will continue to be the Jacks flagship radio station throughout the 2014-15 season. All 60 regular season matchups and playoff games will be broadcast in crystal clear sound on the FM dial with Joey Battaino providing the play-by-play in his second season with the Jackalopes.
"First of all, it is great to be back in the Permian Basin for another season," said the fifth-year NAHL voice. "We are very happy to continue our broadcast partnership with KFZX. Long-time program director Steve Driscoll and I developed a solid working relationship last season, and now some of our ideas are coming to fruition. Look for some fresh and interesting content in this year's broadcast."
Along with the live play-by-play of all 60 games and playoffs, Classic Rock 102 will also broadcast the wildly popular Coach's Show, "Jacks Power Hour" from the Rockin' Q Smokehouse in Odessa. Each Monday night at 7:00, Joey Battaino sits down with head coach Greg Gatto and select members of the team, as well as takes questions from fans on site in an open forum setting. The hour long program, which debuts on September 8th, is also interactive with fans using social media to submit questions for players and coaches, as well as enter contests for Jackalopes prizes.
The Jackalopes first radio broadcast of the 2014-15 season will be on Friday, September 13th, when the Jacks head to Wichita Falls to take on the Wildcats in the season opener. The broadcast will begin at 6:50 PM CT with the H & S Valve pre-game show and the puck drops at 7:05.
In 2014-15, the Odessa Jackalopes will embark upon their fourth season in the North American Hockey League and 18th in the Permian Basin. Season tickets are on sale now!
