Jacks, Odessa Chamber join forces

(Odessa, TX) - Tuesday evening the Central Hockey League's Odessa Jackalopes hosted over 80 members of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce in a "Business After Hours" event at the brand new Falcon International Center Ice Club.
The gathering gave local business owners and employees an opportunity to mingle, network, and see first-hand the beginning of the new direction the Jackalopes franchise is heading. Jackalopes General Manager Joe Clark gave an introductory speech to all the attendees, welcoming them to the new Falcon Club and thanking them for their support of the franchise. Clark also encouraged Chamber members to continue their support as the Jackalopes franchise makes a push to increase its presence in the Odessa community.
"The Chamber event, in our eyes, was a great opportunity for both the Jackalopes and some of Odessa's best business leaders," said Clark. "Many had not seen our new facilities, and where we have many new faces on our staff, it gave everyone an opportunity to establish some important ties."
Everyone who attended had a chance to win door prizes provided by a number of different businesses, meet with Jacks head coach Paul Gillis about the upcoming season, and get a tour of the Jackalopes new offices, which opened this past spring.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team will begin its 12th season on October 17th against the defending champion Arizona Sundogs.
