Jackrabbits Spoil Aviators' Return Home
July 30, 2018 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Lafayette Aviators News Release
The Lafayette Aviators, in their first home game in a week, lost to the Kokomo Jackrabbits Monday 5-3.
To open the evening, Kokomo registered three runs in the first two innings. The pace of the game's scoring then slowed for a while with three consecutive scoreless innings for both sides.
A Bryce Ball RBI got the Aviators their first run of the night in the bottom of the 5th. They'd add a run per inning through the 7th, capping that three-run stretch with a solo home run from Kam Smith.
Kokomo would not sit idly by, however, as Lafayette attempted the comeback. Two runs in the top of the 7th would keep the Jackrabbits out in front. Try as they might, the Aviators could not produce enough offense to keep pace with the Jackrabbits in this one.
Lafayette will play one game on the road Tuesday against the Springfield Sliders before coming back to Loeb Wednesday to play the Danville Dans. Both games' first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
