
Jackals announce exhibition games

Montclair, NJ (April 2005)âThe defending 2004 league champions, the New Jersey Jackals, will kick start the 2005 season with a home-and-home exhibition series against the Elmira Pioneers on May 18th and May 20th. The May 18th game will be at home, Yogi Berra Stadium, with first pitch at 7:05 pm. The Jackals will then travel to Elmira for the tail end of the series on May 20th (7:05 first pitch).
"As the returning champions, we are looking forward to a competitive season and the opportunity to defend our title," said Jackals General Manager Ben Wittkowski. "Exhibition games are not only a great practice for the players and coaches, it is a good way to work out all the kinks operationally. In addition, with our home opener not until June 2nd- this is a great way for our fans to catch some baseball action prior to June."
Tickets will be available on April 2nd at the Jackals open house, and will be available thereafter in the Jackals box office. Fans interested in purchasing tickets should call the Jackals box office at 973-655-8035.
As part of the Can-Am League, the Jackals play the Bangor Lumberjacks, Brockton Rox, Elmira Pioneers, New Haven County Cutters, North Shore Spirit, Les Capitales de Quebec and newest team to the league, Worcester Tornados.
The Jackals begin their season on the road on May 26 and will kickoff their home season on June 2. Season ticket, mini-plans and group packages are now available and can be purchased by calling the Jackals office at 973-746-7434.
