Odessa Jackalopes News Release
ODESSA, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes and the North American Hockey League are proud to announce the Odessa home schedule for the 2021-22 season! The Jackalopes 25th season will see 28 home games at the Ector County Coliseum against seven south division teams. Fans will see old rivals like the Lone Star Brahmas, Shreveport Mudbugs, Corpus Christi IceRays, and New Mexico Ice Wolves while also getting their first look at the El Paso Rhinos and the Amarillo Wranglers.
The Jackalopes home opener will be on Thursday, October 28 for the first of a three-game series against the Lone Star Brahmas. Two weeks later the Jacks will welcome the Amarillo Wranglers to the Ector County Coliseum for the first time on November 12-13. The Wranglers are newcomers to the South Division after the former Amarillo Bulls relocated to north Iowa.
Fans will also get their first look at the defending Robertson Cup Champion Shreveport Mudbugs on November 26 and 27 just after Thanksgiving.
December will be your best time to see the Odessa Jackalopes as the Jacks will kick off their first of eight home games in the final month of 2021 with a three-game set against the El Paso Rhinos on December 2-4. Odessa will see four more home games in the following weeks against New Mexico (December 10-11) and Corpus Christi (December 17-18) before the holiday break. El Paso will return to the JackShack for a New Year's Eve game on Friday, December 31.
The first two months of the new year will see the Jackalopes at home just five times as they host Wichita Falls on January 28-29 before a three-game set on February 3-5 against the Brahma's on Thursday and the IceRays on Friday and Saturday.
But Odessa will be back in West Texas in earnest during the month of March. Six home games mark the third month of the year and the coming of spring. It starts with a home set against the Wranglers on March 11-12, continues with another home series against the Warriors on March 18-19, and then concludes with a home series against the Ice Wolves on March 25-26.
The Jackalopes will conclude their home schedule on April 1-2 hosting the Mudbugs at the Ector County Coliseum. In the 28 home games the Jackalopes will be able to see each of their South division opponents four times. This assures that fans will have a chance to see old rivals and new foes at the JackShack this season.
"We're excited about the 25th anniversary of continuous hockey in the Permian Basin," said Jackalopes team President Rick Matchett. "We're looking forward to facing off against old foes but we're even more excited to take on our new competitors in El Paso and Amarillo. Plus, having a familiar foe like the Corpus Christ IceRays return is another benefit that will make this season that much more exciting."
