IWFL Announces New Player Bonus Program

New York Sharks News Release


The Independent Women's League announced the first program of its kind, a monetary bonus system which rewards players for performance. IWFL players now will be eligible for $11,000 in monetary awards. "We expect our athletes to be best at what they do. They deserve to be rewarded for that," stated Laurie Frederick, President of the IWFL.

Schedule Change

The game originally scheduled for May 29th against the New Hampshire Freedom has been changed. The Sharks will now be playing the Freedom in New Hampshire on June 12th at 3:30pm. See our schedule for the latest dates and times for all New York Sharks games.

New Sharks Tryout Announced

Want to play for the world famous New York Sharks? The Sharks will be holding a tryout on February 21st in Jamaica, Queens. For directions to 150th Street Park (near Baisley Park), visit our tryouts page for more information.

  • The IWFL has announced that the Rhode Island Intensity and Memphis Matrix will be joining the league.
  • All-Time Roster -see a roster of every woman who ever put on a Sharks uniform.
