The Albuquerque Isotopes kick-off their seventh home opener this Thursday, April 9, with a series against the Omaha Royals, Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The 2009 home opener is particularly special as it is the first game under the new partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The series with the O-Royals begins an eight-game stretch that features a slew of exciting giveaways and special events.

The 2009 Isotopes season starts with a bang on Thursday, April 9, when the 'Topes meet the Omaha Royals at 6:35 PM. Tommy Lasorda will be on hand to welcome in a new era of the Dodgers partnership and the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a special Dodgers Fleece Blanket, courtesy of Sandia Resort and Casino. Fans will also be treated the usual pomp and circumstance of Opening Day, complete with player introductions and a special first-pitch ceremony.

The Easter Bunny will make a stop at Isotopes Park on Sunday, April 12, giving kids 12 and under a chance to make a dash for eggs filled with candy on the field beginning at 12:45 PM and continuing while supplies last. For the Dodger aficionados in the crowd, the Isotopes will don their brand-new Dodger blue home jerseys that will be worn on Sundays throughout the season.
