Islanders Players Honoured in Charlottetown

Charlottetown, PEI - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League tonight announced the winners of the Michel-Bergeron Trophy (Offensive Rookie of the Year) and Kia Humanitarian Player of the Year presented by Kia prior to puck drop of Game #2 between the Phoenix and the Islanders at the EastLink Centre.
Vegas Golden Knights prospect Jakub Brabenec wins the Michel-Bergeron Trophy as the top offensive rookie after recording 64 points, including 17 goals. The native of Jihlava in the Czech Republic also scored seven power-play goals and five game-winners for the Islanders this season.
Brett Budgell earned the Kia Humanitarian of the Year award after partnering with the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry during the past two seasons. This non-profit organization strives to meet the food needs of people in the community. He spearheaded the organization's largest donation initiative this year. Brett also created the "Fill the Net Food Drive" which encouraged Islanders fans to donate.
