Island Storm News Release

The Island Storm are excited to announce they have completed their roster, ahead of this weekend's home opening double header at the Eastlink Centre.

The team announced today they have released Point Guard Oliver McNally, Center Cody Boone, and Small Forward Jamarcus Ellis to finalize their 12-man roster.

Storm Head Coach Joe Salerno says he is pleased with the team's pre-season thus far, and their opening day roster.

"This has been the most competitive camp I have had in my five seasons of coaching at the professional level. It made for some very difficult decisions, but in the end, that's always a good problem to have. I think we are a much stronger team coming out of training camp this season than we were at the end of camp last year. We have a great group of veteran guys who like to share the basketball and love to win. When we all get on the same page, I think we will be as competitive as anyone."

The final 12-man roster is as follows:

Al Stewart 5'10" PG Drake Chicago, IL

Derek Coleman 5'11" PG Robert Morris Dorchester, MA

Greg Plummer 6'4" SG Eckerd College Brooklyn, NY

Shawn Vanzant 6'1" SG Butler Tampa, FL

Ashton Graham (c) 6'4" SG U. of Tampa Toronto, ON

Semaj Inge 6'5" SG Temple Camden, NJ

Antonio Ballard 6'5" SF Miami-Ohio Lexington, KY

Doug McKinney 6'9" PF UPEI Charlottetown, PE

Amani Daanish 6'8" PF Indiana State Los Angeles, CA

Dwayne Smith (c) 6'6" SF G. Washington Toronto, ON

Antoine Tisby 6'8" C S. Carolina Kansas City, KS

Nick Evans 6'11" C S. Illinois Carbondale, IL

The Storm open their season this weekend with back to back games at Charlottetown's Eastlink Centre, hosting the Saint John Mill Rats on Saturday night at 7pm, and then the Moncton Miracles are in town for a 2pm Sunday matinee game.

Musicians Courtney Hogan & Adam MacGregor will provide pre-game and half-time entertainment at the home opener on November 2nd, with the Confederation Centre's Youth Chorus (under the direction of Don Fraser) performing the National Anthem.

For the first time in franchise history, the Storm will be unveiling a mascot at the Sunday afternoon contest.
