Milwaukee Mustangs News Release
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Iron will not request a renewal from the league office on Head Coach Gary Compton's contract with the team for the 2010 Arena Football season, announced Iron general manager Jason Clark. Coach Compton's one-year contract with the arenafootball2 league as Milwaukee's head coach expired on September 15, 2009. "Gary Compton has been involved in Arena Football for nearly two decades. He was a tremendous player for the Mustangs in the AFL and the Milwaukee Iron were proud to have him as head coach in their inaugural season. The Iron appreciate Coach Compton's service to the team and wish him tremendous success in the future", said Clark.
The Iron have already begun the search process with the league office for its new head coach as preparations are underway for the 2010 season. "The Milwaukee Iron will be playing Arena Football at the elite level in 2010. Specifics cannot be discussed at this time because details are still being worked out at a league level", stated Clark. "However, as the Milwaukee Iron prepare for next season we are letting prospective coaches, players and corporate partners know that we will be playing Arena Football at the absolute highest level."
League details and specifics could be announced as early as Monday, September 28, by Arena Football and Iron officials.
