Introducing Storm Chasers Dance Camps

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - The Chicago Storm offer a new and exciting activity during the summer months - an opportunity to learn some dance moves alongside Chicago's premier dance team, the Chicago Storm Chasers!
The Storm Chasers, led by director Lindsey Jones, hold 12 dance camps throughout the Chicago area from June through August. Each camper receives a set of poms, official camp T-shirt, certificate of participation and a ticket to a Chicago Storm match during the 2008-09 season. An awards ceremony is held following Friday's camp day. Dance camps run from 9 a.m. to noon, with the exception of Joliet (1 to 3 p.m.).

The weeklong camps are divided into two age groups:
Ages 4-6: The camp is an introduction to technical skills and the art of performance. It is designed for beginners, and campers learn basic hip-hop, jazz and pom skills. Campers perform at the end of the week. Cost: $125.
Ages 7-17: The camp is great for intermediate dancers to continue advancing their technical skills and performance. An emphasis is placed on incorporating skills into choreography and showmanship. Cost: $125.

July 14-18: Rolling Meadows - Community Center Fields
July 21-25: Joliet - Inwood Sports Complex*
July 21-25: Schaumburg - Alfred Campanelli
July 28-Aug. 1: Evanston - McGaw YMCA
Aug. 11-15: Naperville - Heritage YMCA
Aug. 11-15: Flossmoor - Anita Stone JCC
* Joliet camp runs from 1 to 3 p.m.
