
Indians Shutout Tornado; Dominate Windy City Showcase

The highlight of the showcase was the outstanding play of Indians forward Derek Punches, who nearly doubled his goal total in 4-games over the weekend.
Derek netted 6-goals and 1-assist for a total of 7-points in 4-games, which was highlighted by a Hat Trick in the Indians 11-2 win over Fernie. Punches scored 3-goals on the powerplay and 1-goal short-handed, while finishing with a +4 rating.
January 15-18, 2004-- The Soo Kewadin Casino Indians dominated the Windy City Showcase by collecting 4-wins, including a 3-0 victory over the top ranked Texas Tornado.
The Indians placed 3-players in the Top 5 in showcase scoring. Paskaris (6-3-9) and Bittle (3-6-9) led the showcase with 9-points each. Paskaris and Punches led the showcase in goals with each player netting 6-markers in 4-games.
Goaltender Derek MacIntyre was solid in goal, collecting 3-wins including a shutout, while posting a 2.00 GAA, and .917 SVPCT in 3-games.
Blain Named Northern Division Offensive Player of the Week!
January 13, 2004--Soo Kewadin Casino Indians forward and Sault Ste. Marie native Jason Blain was named North Division Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending January 11th.
Jason Blain scored two goals and two assists to help the Soo in their weekend road sweep of the Youngstown Phantoms. Blain had a power play goal and an assist on Friday and the game-winning goal and an assist on Saturday. For the season, Blain is second in scoring on the Soo with 43-points in 30-games played.
