Indianapolis Indians News Release
INDIANAPOLIS -- With Central Indiana enjoying near-record temperatures over the past few days, the Indianapolis Indians have announced a guarantee of similar warm weather on Opening Night. The home schedule will kick-off with the Tribe taking on the Toledo Mud Hens at Victory Field on Friday, April 16 at 7:15 p.m.
Fans can count on the game-time temperature being at least 60 degrees when the Tribe squares off with Toledo on Opening Night. If the contest starts with a temperature below 60, everyone in attendance will receive a FREE ticket to one of the other eight April home games.
"We all have endured a Winter that lasted far too long. But by April 16th we'll all be able to say - 'it's over now' ", says Indians Vice President & General Manager Cal Burleson. "The start of the baseball season is a true sign of better days ahead. Our weather guarantee is a reminder that Indians Baseball is coming back at Victory Field - still the best Minor League Ball Park in America. Let the games begin."
Along with an Opening Night Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular, the first 5,000 fans on April 16 and 17 will also receive an Indians Schedule Magnet courtesy of Pepsi, Marriott Place Indianapolis and Ivy Tech Community College, while the first 4,000 on April 17 will go home with an Indians Wall Calendar. The popular Monday Dollar Menu makes its season debut on April 19, while April 21 marks the first of three "Baseball in Education" days for the 2010 season.
Individual game tickets are currently available by visiting the Victory Field Box Office at 501 West Maryland Street, calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000 or going online at www.IndyIndians.com.
Adult ticket prices are $9 (lawn), $10 (reserved) and $14 (box seats) for the 2010 campaign. Children 14-and-under can attend all 72 home games for just $15 by taking advantage of the Community Health/WISH-TV Knot Hole Kids Club.
Groups of 25-99 can enjoy an afternoon or evening at Victory Field for $2 off per ticket, while groups of 100 or more receive a $3 discount. Season ticket packages can also be purchased for as low as $70 per seat.
After opening the season on the road, Indianapolis will return home on Friday, April 16 to kick-off the 2010 home schedule with a nine-game homestand, there longest of the year. The Tribe will battle the Mud Hens (April 16-19), the Columbus Clippers (April 20-21) and the Louisville Bats (April 22-24) to begin the home slate.
Last year 8,973 Tribe fans gathered at Victory Field for opening night on April 9 vs. Toledo. The game-time temperature ended up being 59 degrees, one degree off the guarantee, which meant all fans in attendance won a FREE ticket to a game of their choice in the month of April.
