Indiana Ice News Release

BANNER TIME: Ice owners Paul & Cindy Skjodt and son, Ian joined returnees Shane Berschbach, Anthony Bitetto, Taylor Boldt, Max Cook and John Parker and raised the 2009 Clark Cup Championship banner Saturday night on the team's home opener from the Pepsi Coliseum. With a 4-1 win over Team USA, the hosts improved their all-time record on home openers to 4-2-0.

LAD FROM LONG ISLAND: Defenseman Anthony Bitetto had a banner night on Saturday as well as the second-year Ice blueliner recorded a goal and an assist in the win to go along with a (+4) plus/minus as he was on the ice for all four Indiana goals. His plus/minus was tied for the second best single game mark in Ice franchise history, behind only Eddie Del Grosso's (UNO) +5 outing on 1/29/05 at Des Moines.

CAB FARE: Goaltender Cab Morris made his USHL debut on Saturday night and proceeded to stop 18 of 19 Team USA shots for his first victory of the season. The Wilmette, IL native played last year at the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut.

PK EXPRESS: The Ice leads the USHL in the penalty killing department as Indiana has killed off 14 of their opponents' 15 power play opportunities to begin the regular season. The Ice finished third overall in penalty killing (86%) during last season's championship run. On the flip side, Indy has struggled out of the gate on the power play as the club is currently 13th in the USHL in that department (2-17, 11.8%).

MORE TO PONDER: Nic Dowd leads the Ice in scoring with six points (G, 5A) and has three points

(G, 2A) in his last two games....David Johnstone has three points (G, 2A) in his last two contests....The line of Johnstone, Chris Martin and Frankie DeAugustine combined for four points (G, 3A) and a (+6) plus/minus in Saturday's victory...Bryon Paulazzo scored his first goal as a member of the Ice on Saturday as well.

ALUMNI WAVES: Joe Hartman (2008-09) registered three points (G, 2A) and a (+5) plus/minus in a three-point weekend for Miami against New Hampshire....Greg Squires (2006-08) dished out five assists in Western Michigan's weekend sweep of Mercyhurst....Colin Vock (2004-05) notched the game-winning goal to go along with an assist in Vermont's 4-1 win over Boston College on Sunday.
