Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact unveiled on Friday the Soccer Schools' calendar for the holiday season. For the first time since 2008, both boys and girls from the greater metropolitan region can take advantage of an Impact clinic during this time of the year.
"We are delighted to offer programs during the holidays as it fits perfectly with our philosophy," said Olivier Brett, director of the Montreal Impact Soccer Schools. "While we want the kids to learn and improve, we also seek to create a fun and entertaining environment. The Soccer Schools have a technical staff of the highest quality. This means that as of 2012, we will be able to offer more programs with an even better standard of coaching."
The Christmas camp will take place at the Bois-de-Boulogne Sports Complex, in Laval, from December 27 to 29, 2011, from 9am until 12pm. It will help kids aged six to 16 improve their technical, tactical and physical abilities in a fun and professional environment. Practices will be given by players and technical staff of the Montreal Impact's Academy and will offer coaching adapted to the level of each participant. Every player will therefore progress at his or her own pace.
"It's always a pleasure to come back to Québec city but it's even more special with the Soccer Schools, added Brett. "Our visit offers kids from the region the opportunity to interact very closely with the Impact's technical staff which can only happen through the Soccer Schools."
Players in Quebec's capital will also enjoy a visit from the Montreal Impact for a one day event on December 23, at Stade Chauveau in Quebec City. Training will be given by Academy coaches and Impact U21 players who originate from Quebec City.
Players and parents alike will also have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive Q&A period with the Soccer Schools' staff. Everyone will get an opportunity to learn more about professional soccer and the Montreal Impact.
The Soccer Schools will kickoff 2012 with Intensive Clinics as well as Specialized Clinics for goalkeepers and strikers, returning to Ville St. Laurent, St-Leonard and Montreal North. While the Intensive Clinics cover the fundamental skills that every soccer players needs to master, the Specialized Clinics offer participants more in depth coaching and teaching. Over 1,000 boys and girls took part in these programs in 2011.
