Montreal Impact News Release

CARY, North Carolina - The Montreal Impact faces the Carolina RailHawks, Saturday at 7 pm, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, in its second exhibition match in North Carolina.

"We will face this team during our regular season so it's important to show them what we can do and take the mental advantage out of it," mentioned midfielder Tyler Hemming. "We possess the ball very well up to now, but we need to move the ball more quickly, create more chances and score. All of this will come with time. I think we need to keep on working and stick to the team's game plan."

Following a 1-0 loss March 20 at Rochester (USSF-D2) and a 1-1 draw last Wednesday against the Charleston Battery (USL-2), the Impact will be looking for a first win on American soil during training camp.

"After two months of training camp, I think it will be a really good test for us," noted Impact assistant coach Mauro Biello. "This team had a good season last year, so we are expecting a well organized team that will be ready to put on a good performance. The other teams will always prepare well against us so we need to find that depth in the attack that will allow us to score. Our midfielders need to penetrate the wings and we have to take advantage of our forwards' speed."

The potential starting lineup (4-3-3) for the Impact should be Matt Jordan, defenders Simon Gatti, Nevio Pizzolitto, Hicham Aaboubou and Adam Braz, midfielders Rocco Placentino, Tyler Hemming, Tony Donatelli, Philippe Billy and Filipe Soares, as well as forward Roberto Brown.

In six preseason games since the start of camp, January 25, the Montreal team has a record of two wins (2-1 versus UQAM/McGill and 5-1 versus Freamunde), two losses (2-1 versus Celta de Vigo and 1-0 versus Rochester) and two draws (1-1 versus Boavista and 1-1 versus Charleston).

"The guys are taking this game very seriously. It's very important for us to do well because it's one our good last preseason games," declared team captain Nevio Pizzolitto. "We don't want to give away any goals and we want to get a good result."

It will be the third exhibition match of training camp for the RailHawks. Carolina lost 2-1 against the New England Revolution (MLS), March 20, at WakeMed Park, and are playing tonight against the North Carolina University Tar Heels (NCAA) in Southern Pines.
