Pontoon Beach, IL, 9/13/13 - Illinois Piasa have signed another local player, 6'3" target forward Nate Heryford . Nate grew up playing youth soccer for Norco and Metro United. He played high school soccer at Francis Howell, where he was team captain his senior year, before moving on to play four years at Quincy University. Nate is a recent graduate of Quincy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
"Nate is another local player that adds size, technical ability, and versatility. He can play target, midfield, or as a defender. For a big guy that's 6'3", he has an amazing first touch that coupled with his vision and passing ability makes him an ideal target player. I have known Nate's family for years. Nathan had this to say about signing with Piasa, "I've been given a great opportunity to keep playing at a high level. I'm really looking forward to what the season holds for me and the team."
"Piasa is really happy to have Nate as part of the team. I see big things for him this season and with that, big things for Piasa," said Matt Williams GM of Illinois Piasa, "We've signed some great players recently and there are more to come in the weeks ahead.
