IFL Week Two Recap

Week Two didn't fail to impress as 12 teams took the field. The week was kicked off by the Tulsa Oilers and the Frisco Fighters on Friday night.

The Oilers made the trip to Frisco where they played their first ever game in franchise history. It didn't take long for Frisco to show them what the league is all about as Charles Headen returned the opening kickoff for six points.

Frisco jumped out to a 16-3 lead that they wouldn't surrender. TJ Edwards threw for 107 yards and ran for another 32 in the 35-13 win.

The first game of Saturday's action pinned Duke City against the reigning champs of the IFL in the Northern Arizona Wranglers. The Wranglers overcame an 18-point deficit, but the Duke City offense proved to be too much. Gary Brown had two receiving touchdowns and 87 receiving yards for the Gladiators in the 43-35 win.

Vegas and Iowa kicked off their seasons to cap off Saturday night. Dequan Neal and Quentin Randolph took over the game as they ran away with 57-44 win. Neal passed for 220 yards and six touchdowns, with three going to Randolph.

Sunday had three games, with the first featuring Quad City and San Diego. The Steamwheelers grabbed a 49-47 win for their first win of the season behind EJ Hilliard's spectacular play. He finished with 128 passing yards and another 48 on the ground.

Massachusetts kicked their season off at home against the Green Bay Blizzard. Massachusetts controlled the tempo of the game and held the lead from start to finish. Alejandro Bennifield finished with 188 passing yards and three touchdowns in the 55-41 victory.

The most exciting game of the weekend was saved for last. Bay Area hosted Arizona and held on for the win after a failed Rattlers two-point conversion. Justin Rankin ran for 59 yards in a 47-46 thriller.

This upcoming weekend will feature another six games over four days. The action will kick off on Friday when Iowa makes the trip to Green Bay.
