
IFL Week 2 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 2 of the 2019 IFL season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lenorris Footman (QB, Green Bay Blizzard)
Green Bay Blizzard QB Lenorris Footman stepped up and delivered late game heroics in Week 2 and helped the Green Bay Blizzard (1-1) earn their first win of the season 53-52 over the Nebraska Danger. With just 25 seconds remaining in the game, Footman rushed for his fifth touchdown of the night giving the Blizzard the slight lead late in the game. The Blizzard's defense later held the Danger from scoring, sealing the victory. Footman's five touchdowns tied the team's all-time record for a single game (Laron Council, 2012, Nate Wara,2014). Footman finished the game with 77 rushing yards and also threw for 104 yards. The Green Bay Blizzard travel to face the defending IFL champion Iowa Barnstormers in Week 3.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dee Maggitt Jr. (DB, Tucson Sugar Skulls)
The Tucson Sugar Skulls (1-0) made an impressive IFL debut in Week 2 earning their first-ever IFL victory, 65-44, over fellow expansion member San Diego Strike Force. Sugar Skulls DB Dee Maggitt Jr. provided two key turnovers that helped Tucson earn the victory. Late in the first half, Maggitt Jr. intercepted Strike Force QB Derrick Bernard at the goal line and and returned it 20 yards. One play later Tucson's offense added a touchdown. Maggitt Jr. later sealed the game as he grabbed another interception on San Diego's last possession of the game. Maggitt Jr. finished the game with seven tackles, two interceptions, one tackle for loss and one pass breakup. Tucson host their first-ever IFL game in Week 3 against the Bismarck Bucks.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dezmon Epps (KR, Arizona Rattlers)
In their first home game of the season, the Arizona Rattlers dismantled the Cedar Rapids River Kings 81-37. Arizona WR/ KR Dezmon Epps added some of the most explosive and spectacular plays of the weekend in the Rattlers' victory. Early in the first quarter, Epps returned the River Kings' kickoff 54 yards for the a touchdown. Epps finished the game with three kick off returns for 92 yards and one touchdown. His 30.4 yards per return average is the highest in the IFL since his own 32.9 yards per return average on April 28, 2018. Epps also caught a 34 yard pass for a touchdown as he slammed into the end zone dasherboards. Epps and the Arizona Rattlers have a bye week in Week 3 and host the Tucson Sugar Skulls in Week 4.
