IFL Week 17 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 17 of the 2019 IFL season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mike Jones (RB, Tucson Sugar Skulls)
The Tucson Sugar Skulls secured a spot in the IFL playoffs in Week 17 by taking down the Quad City Steamwheelers 55-50 The first-year team used a strong running game led by RB Mike Jones to help secure their first-ever playoff berth. Jones was a workhorse back for the Sugar Skulls has he rushed 14 times for 113 yards and found the endzone three times. Jones averaged 8.3 yards per rush in the game. Jones helped power the Sugar Skulls offense this season as he finished the season ranked second in the IFL in rushing yards (711) and tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns (21). Jones and the Sugar Skulls will travel to face the Sioux Falls Storm in the first round of the IFL playoffs on June 23.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Silverberry Mouhan (DL, Green Bay Bliz- zard)
The Green Bay Blizzard had a dominant defensive performance in Week 17 as the team shut out the Cedar Rapids River Kings 47-0. It was the first shut out in Green Bay history and the fifth in IFL history. Leading the dominant performance was DL Silverberry Mou- han. Late in the second quarter, Mouhan found his way into the endzone as he returned a blocked kick for a touchdown. Later the game, Mouhan also returned a fumble 22 yards. He finished his game with five tackles, one sack, 1.5 tackles for loss, one fumble
recovery and one blocked kick for a touchdown. The Green Bay Blizzard will host their first playoff game in seven years on June 21st as the take on Nebraska Danger.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: William Gibbs (KR, Bismarck Bucks)
Despite falling the 65-54 to the Sioux Falls Storm, the Bismarck Bucks put on one of the most exciting special teams performances of the year in Week 17. The Bucks racked up 205 kick return yards and two kick return touchdowns in their final game of the year. Leading the way was KR William Gibbs. Late in the game and just a few minutes after fellow teammate KR Frederick Abraham returned a kick for a touchdown, Gibbs fol- lowed up with his own 50-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Gibbs finished the game leading the Bucks with 135 kick return yards on seven returns. He also added two recep- tions for 57 yards, including a 45 yard reception for a touchdown.
