IFL Week 13 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 13 of the 2019 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Keshaun Taylor (WR, Green Bay Blizzard)

The Green Bay Blizzard fell in a hard fought battle to the Iowa Barnstormers 54-49 in Week 13. The Blizzard's offense was almost entirely fueled by the spectacular play of WR Keshaun Taylor. Taylor caught five touchdown passes for the Blizzard including an incredible final touchdown on a deflected ball. Taylor finished his night with 10 receptions for 173 yards as well. Taylor's 173 receiving yards is tied for fifth most in a single game in IFL history. His five receiving touchdowns tied the IFL record for most in a game. The Green Bay Blizzard have a bye in Week 14 and return to face the Bismarck Bucks on June 1.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Micah Eugene (DB, Tucson Sugar Skulls)

The Tucson Sugar Skulls took down the Bismarck Bucks 52-40 in Week 13 and strengthened their case to host a game in the IFL playoffs. In a back and forth game, Sugar Skulls DB Micah Eugene's strong defensive play helped the Sugar Skulls pull away. Eugene led the Sugar Skulls with seven tackles and two tackles for loss. He also added an interception in the third quarter and led all IFL defensive backs with four pass breakups. The Tucson Sugar Skulls host the Arizona Rattlers in Week 14.

Honorable Mention: Baron Poole (DL, Arizona Rattlers), Davonte Merriweather (DB, Arizona Rattlers), Paul Dodson (DB, Bismarck Bucks), Luke Stice (LB, Nebraska Danger), Omar Cook (DB, San Diego Strike Force)

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jacob Stytz (K, Quad City Steamwheelers)

In a must win game to stay in the playoff hunt, the Quad City Steamwheelers defeated the Cedar Rapids River Kings 48-29 in Week 13. Kicker Jacob Stytz was perfect for the Steamwheelers as he completed both of his field goal attempts (19, 23) and all six of his extra point attempts. In total Stytz contributed 12 points to the Steamwheelers key victory. A reliable kicker for the Steamwheelers this season, Stytz has converted 45 of 50 extra points this season and has totaled 60 points this season. The Steamwheelers look to keep their playoff hopes alive in Week 14 as they travel to face the Nebraska Danger.
