IFL Announces Week Two Players of the Week
March 28, 2024 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release
The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week Two of the 2024 IFL season. Ja'Rome Johnson (VEG) is named Offensive Player of the Week, Kishawn Walker (SD) is named Defensive Player of the Week, and Jayln Cagle (GB) is named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Ja'Rome Johnson, QB, Vegas Knight Hawks
Following a strong start to the Knight Hawks' season, Ja'Rome Johnson had as good of a start as one could have. Johnson went 9/16 for 179 yards and three aerial scores, while adding 116 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground. Ja'Rome was directly responsible for all six Knight Hawk touchdowns.
Kishawn Walker, CB, San Diego Strike Force
In a game that showcased a strong defensive performance from the Strike Force, Kishawn Walker shined brightest. Walker combined for four-and-a-half tackles, while adding two interceptions- one of which being the game-sealing interception. The San Diego Strike Force defense is looking like one of the best defenses in the league, and after his strong performance in Week Two, Kishawn Walker walks away as Defensive Player of the Week.
Jalyn Cagle, KR, Green Bay Blizzard
Crucial to the Blizzard's victory against the Barnstormers, Jayln Cagle is named Special Teams Player of the Week for his 63 yards on two returns, including a 42-yard kick return for a touchdown. That score was what eventually led the Blizzard to coming back after facing a 24-14 deficit in the third quarter.
The 2024 IFL season continues Friday night, kicking off Week Three in the Tsongas Center, as the Sioux Falls Storm take on the Massachusetts Pirates. Catch all of the Week Three action on the IFL YouTube channel or Caffeine TV.
