IFL Announces Week One Players of the Week

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week One of the 2023 XV season. Frisco Quarterback, TJ Edwards is the Offensive Players of the Week. Frisco Defensive Back, Kordell Jackson, earns Defensive Player of the Week. Special Teams Player of the Week goes to Dillon Winfrey of the Arizona Rattlers.
TJ Edwards - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Even with it being the IFL opening weekend, it didn't take Edwards long to heat up. Frisco dismantled the Green Bay Blizzard through stellar play on both sides of the ball. TJ started the year accounting for seven total touchdowns. He had one score through the air while throwing for 138 yards on 14 of 20 attempts. Edwards proved once again that he's a dual threat scoring six touchdowns on the ground while racking up 79 total rushing yards.
Kordell Jackson - DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
When your team wins by forty-six points, you're going to see some impressive stats. Which is why Frisco takes both Offensive and Defensive Players of the week. On the defensive side, Kordell Jackson shined. He led all players with 11 tackles. Impressive on its own, but when you add three pass breakups and one interception, you have the Defensive Player of the Week.
Dillon Winfrey - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
IFL opening weekend only featured two games but we've already seen some incredible performances. Special Teams was no exception. Arizona Rattlers return specialist, Dillon Winfrey, put on a show. Winfrey had five total returns and he made them count. He averaged 32 yards per return. Five returns totaling 160 return yards, one of them being 51 yards for a touchdown.
Week two of the 2023 XV IFL season begins Friday night with new franchise, Tulsa Oilers, heading to Frisco for their first game ever. Followed by two games on Saturday and three on Sunday. Find the matchups, details and where to watch at www.GoIFL.com.
