IFL Announces VidSwap.com Players of the Week

May 20, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release

Richmond, VA: The Week 10 slate of games featured multiple upsets, inter-division rivalries, and even more crowding within the playoff races. This week's standout performances were from three individuals trying to will their teams into the IFL postseason. Fans can visit GoIFL.com to see the video highlights that made these young men the VidSwap.com Players of the Week.

WEEK TEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -WR ERIC TAYLOR/ODESSA ROUGHNECKS

Big-time players make big-time plays. Roughnecks Wide Receiver Eric Taylor has made plenty of them in his day. Last Saturday was no different, as he was the difference in a four point Lone Star Division victory against the Stampede Express. Taylor seemed to be open every time Quarterback Dennis Gile stepped back to pass, and finished the night with 8 catches for 125 yards and three touchdowns. Performances like this and we could see the Roughnecks climb back into the IFL playoff picture.

WEEK TEN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -LB ARTHUR HARRIS/ ODESSA ROUGHNECKS

For the second week in a row, players from the same team have taken home both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Awards. By looking at the game that Arthur Harris contributed, one can easily see that the awards are warranted. The Roughneck Linebackers name was called all game, and he seemed to be involved on every single play, during a tight division battle against San Angelo. He totaled 11.5 tackles (9 solo), 0.5 tackle-for-loss, and an interception of Stampede Express Quarterback Sonny Cumbie.

WEEK TEN SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK-K ANDREW KROELL/SIOUX CITY BANDITS

Never say Never in this crazy game of Indoor Football. The Sioux City Bandits could have rolled over and given up on this season, but they showed their determination and are now back in the IFL playoff picture. In their lopsided victory over Colorado last weekend, Kicker Andrew Kroell used his accurate leg to contribute 15 points to the total score. He hit on all three of his field goal attempts from 25, 28, and 30 yards deep and was 6 of 7 on extra point attempts. Kroell and the Bandits hope they can ride this momentum for the rest of the season.

The season resumes Friday night, May 22, with Colorado heading to Omaha and Bloomington traveling to Saginaw. Kickoff for both games is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Follow all the action at www.goifl.com and on the B2 broadcasts www.b2livetv.com of each game all season long.
