
Idaho Tops Reno In Season Opener, 137-115

BOISE, Idaho- Desmon Farmer scored 25 points and Mo Charlo chipped in 22 for the Bighorns Saturday night, but the effort fell short as the Idaho Stampede ran away with a 137-115 victory over Reno in the season opener for both teams at Qwest Arena.
The Bighorns (0-1) and Stampede (1-0) traded the lead several times in the early-going before Idaho finally pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Reno 36-21 in the final frame.
Idaho scored 45 of its points from beyond the arc, shooting 55.6 percent (15-of-27) from three-point range. The Stampede connected on 68.6 percent of its free-throw attempts and shot 56.3 percent from the field.
In addition to the offensive efforts of Farmer and Charlo, Marcus Hubbard netted 20 points for the Bighorns. Brian Laing came off the bench to score 16 points and grab a game-high-tying eight rebounds.
The Bighorns and Stampede will hook-up again on Monday night from Qwest Arena. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. PST and the action can be seen live on NBA Futurecast by visiting www.nba.com/dleague.
Reno's home opener is set for Dec. 5, when the Bighorns take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the Reno Events Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., with a magnet schedule giveaway among the highlights of the evening.
