Idaho Steelheads News Release
(Boise, ID) - The Idaho Steelheads have released their season-ending roster, listing 18 players who were on ECHL contracts during the 2009-2010 season.
Of these 18 players, eight may be extended qualifying offers for the 2010-2011 season. Players who were on AHL or NHL contracts are not eligible for the season-ending roster or a qualifying offer for next season.
Here is the list of Idaho's season-ending roster:
Goaltender (1): Rejean Beauchemin.
Defensemen (6): Aaron Dawson, Steve Oleksy, Brett Blatchford, Weston Tardy, Dustin Friesen, Cody Lampl.
Forwards (11): Marty Flichel, Mark Derlago, John Swanson, Mark McCutcheon, Tyler Spurgeon, Matt McKnight, Adam Huxley, Evan Barlow, John-Scott Dickson, Ashton Rome, Brandan Kushniruk.
Out of this list of 18 players, a maximum of eight can be extended qualifying offers. Those offers must be made by July 1. No more than four of those eight can be veteran players ("veteran" is defined as a player who has played in at least 260 professional hockey games as of the start of the 2010-2011 season). Any player who receives a qualifying offer will have his rights held by Idaho - non-veterans for one full season, veterans until they accept the offer or August 1, whichever comes first.
Ticket plans for the 2010-2011 season are available right now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games during the regular season. Partial-season plans are also available. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
