
Ice's Schneider Commits to Notre Dame

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Indiana Ice announced today that forward Peter Schneider has committed to play division one college hockey for the University of Notre Dame.
The native of Vienna, Austria makes his American debut this season for the Ice after playing last year in the Czech league. In five preseason games for Indiana, he posted three goals and an assist.
Schneider will become the first Ice player to ever suit up for the Fighting Irish, but the United States Hockey League has been the main pipeline most recently to South Bend. On their current roster, about two thirds of the team has come via way of the USHL.
Six of the incoming freshmen were USHL All-Stars last season which includes USHL Goaltender of the year Steven Summerhays (Green Bay) and USHL Playoff MVP Anders Lee (Green Bay).
Notre Dame is a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) which also includes hockey powerhouses such as the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Miami University.
