Evansville IceMen News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN.--- Conducting their second major media conference of the summer off-season on Thursday afternoon at Swonder Ice Arena, the Evansville IceMen of the Central Hockey League have unveiled their new, updated team and organization logo in combination with new team colors and jersey designs for the upcoming 2011-12 CHL season.
The new IceMen logo will maintain the elements inherent to the franchise original logo design while at the same time gaining a more updated, modernized look and appearance.
Accompanying the newly-modified IceMen logo will be the team's new colors and jerseys. Effective with the 2011-12 season, the IceMen team colors will become Navy, Sky and White with the organization opting for a combination of three different-colored jerseys for the campaign.
The two primary Evansville jerseys to be featured for the year will be White with Navy and Sky trim and Navy with Sky and White trim. The new IceMen character crest will prominently adorn the chest with the club's secondary logos set on each shoulder area of the jersey. As according to CHL standards, the IceMen will wear the "Whites" at home in the first half of the league season and for away games in the season's second half. Meanwhile, the Navy look will be donned for away games in the first half and for home games following the midway point of the season.
The IceMen's designated third jersey will be chosen as game wear for special and certain games, both home and away in '11-12. The third jersey will feature a primary body of the color known as "Sky" with Navy and White trim.
The IceMen Vice President Communications/Broadcasting Terry Ficorelli amplified on the franchise all-new look. "With the exciting move into the new Downtown Evansville Arena, we are entering into a whole new era of IceMen pro hockey in our great community. With that in mind, we felt strongly about stepping into these new and exciting times with an updated, more vibrant and contemporary look. Regarding our logo, we would like to especially thank On-Site Computer Solutions and Alex Mourer for the new and creative modification treatment of it. Our logo has become highly visible and recognizable in our community and has become the true symbol of pro hockey excitement in the greater Evansville area. Thus, it was important for us to maintain many of the same elements of it while giving it a more updated, modernized appearance by way of it depicting more motion, more action. IceMen pro hockey is always packed with great motion with a notion and is becoming an action attraction for this region."
Evansville's former team colors were black, royal blue, gray and white.
The IceMen new-look logo and new team colors and jerseys' design go into effect immediately. New IceMen merchandise is presently in the process of being ordered and will be available for sale soon.
