On this date, the Evansville IceMen, in conjunction with BLS Entertainment INC, have announced the completion of another one-year contract deal in which Evansville's very own WEOA-AM 1400 will continue as the flagship radio home for all of the IceMen live play-by-play game broadcasts. Moreover, as was included in last season's contractual agreement, the growingly-popular Monday night radio show "IceMen Live" and the Monday through Friday IceMen daily report, "The IceMen Hockey Update," also return to WEOA-AM 1400.
In addition, all IceMen pro hockey fans will have the capability of listening to all of the IceMen radio programming live on the world-wide internet through the soon-to-be-completed updated, elevated and otherwise upgraded WEOA-AM 1400 reconstructed website with the new website address to be announced very soon. Yet one more key, important ingredient is also in the offing through the IceMen / WEOA-AM 1400 newest pact for 2011-12 with that announcement coming in the very near future. Please stay tuned for that one!!
For this upcoming season, once again, all IceMen games, pre-season, regular season and playoffs, home and away, in their entirety will be broadcast on "THE PUMP," WEOA-AM 1400. All IceMen game broadcasts will consist of a one-half hour Pre-Game Show as well as "The IceMen Star of the Game," which will follow all home game originations, and the IceMen Post Game Show with the latter program being featured after all IceMen games.
WEOA-AM 1400 President / General Manager Ed Lander expressed great enthusiasm, excitement and support of the IceMen organization and the continued partnership with the increasingly-popular Evansville pro hockey franchise. "This is a great time for us and our wonderful association with the IceMen. When we endeavored into our partnership with the IceMen, there was never a thought of this undertaking being for the short haul. Instead, we approached this from the very beginning as something we wanted to do over the long haul. Like all of the Evansville area, we are thrilled over the coming of the new arena. However, we are that much more thrilled and excited to be back with the IceMen organization both on and off the ice. As far as we are concerned, we are with the IceMen all the way through next May championship-bound. The IceMen are an absolutely great organization to work with as we have developed not only a special business relationship with them but also a tremendous friendship together as well. In fact, since owning and operating our radio station, I can say with all sincerity, our best and most rewarding business venture has been with the IceMen. We are so pleased to be looking forward to another great season together."
Echoing the sentiments of Mr. Lander, the IceMen Vice President Communications/Broadcasting Terry Ficorelli lauded the continuing radio/marketing partnership with BLS Entertainment INC and WEOA-AM 1400. We are so thrilled to have Ed and BLS Entertainment back with us in such an integral and instrumental partnership with our organization; especially as we get set to move into the new Downtown Evansville Arena. Our first year together last season was the embodiment of enjoyment. As we knew from the start and was only underscored even more that WEOA does everything first class in every way. Ed and his staff pride themselves in being the consummate professionals. Through the station's many exemplary qualities, the IceMen presentation has achieved much enhancement and advancement as a true going concern in our community."
Remaining included as a major part of this IceMen / WEOA-AM 1400 radio programming agreement is the second year of the popular Monday night radio show, "IceMen Live." "IceMen Live" will launch its new season of shows every Monday night, beginning September 26th, for two full hours, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, live from Show-Me's East. "IceMen Live" is presented and performed in front of a live studio audience, featuring IceMen players, coaches and team personnel as special guests with lots of prize giveaways and plenty of crowd interaction and total fun.
To complete the IceMen's full radio presentation package for 2011-12 on WEOA-AM 1400 will be the daily update report "The IceMen Hockey Update" which will air Monday through Friday at 4:20 pm beginning Monday, September 26th. The report will be presented throughout the season with the central theme of the program being, "stay up to date everyday even when there is not a game."
"THE VOICE OF THE ICEMEN," TERRY FICORELLI, a 38-year pro hockey broadcast veteran will be ice-side at the Evansville "mic" for all of the IceMen game broadcasts, Monday night "IceMen Live" Monday night show and "The IceMen Hockey Update" daily report on WEOA-AM 1400 and on the world-wide internet.
WEOA-AM 1400 has been the Evansville home for IU football and basketball for several years. Through the station's affiliation with Citadel Media, they offer the nationally-syndicated #1 urban morning show, "The Tom Joyner Morning Show," as well as local news and weather.
