Evansville IceMen News Release
Evansville, IN: After a four game homestand, the Evansville IceMen of the All American Hockey League are heading back on the road, but just for one night. The IceMen are traveling to Battle Creek Michigan to take on the Revolution on Friday night, before returning home the same night to take on the Chicago Blaze on Saturday.
The IceMen (4-1-1, 9pts) swept a weekend series against the Revolution (2-3-1, 5pts) last weekend, in the friendly confines of Swonder Ice Arena. The team is preparing for a different atmosphere in Michigan. "It is going to be a good test for our guys", head coach Jack Collins said. "The Revolution are going to be looking to get one back from us after last weekend, and we are going to need to be prepared." The IceMen beat Battle Creek 5-2 on Friday night and 4-3 on Saturday.
This will be the first time this season that the IceMen will be on the road one night and be at home the next. "It is a lot of driving", GM Chip Rossetti said. "The team will hit the road early Friday morning for the 7 hour drive to Battle Creek, play the game and then head right back home and be on the ice Saturday night again. It is really a test for them, but that's life in the minor leagues."
The second place IceMen will battle the first place Chicago Blaze (6-1-0, 12pts) back at Swonder Ice Arena on Saturday, at 7:45pm. It is Military Appreciation Night. All active and inactive military are invited to the game and will receive discounted tickets to the game. Tickets are still available by visiting www.evansvilleicemen.com or by calling the team office at 812-435-8971.
