
Blaze D-Man Hears The Call Of The Mallards

November 11, 2009 / Rolling Meadows, Illinois - The Chicago Blaze are please to announce that defenseman Kyryll Katrych has been called up to join the Quad City Mallards. The Mallards are members of the AA International Hockey League.
The 25 year old Katrych, who is a native of Kiev, Ukraine, signed a contract with the Blaze after attending the Mallards training camp in October and played last season with the Battle Creek Revolution in the AAHL. The 5'11", 195 defenseman is excited about returning to Quad City to further his pro hockey career and is welcoming the challenge of the call up. Blaze owner Aaron Mattey states about Kyryll, "He no doubt has some experience to play at the AA level and I am sure he will represent himself well and make an impression in Quad City. We wish Kyryll the best and appreciated his contribution to our team as we feel his play and development here was key to the oportunity".
The Blaze are currently in first place in the AAHL with a record of 6 - 1. Exciting AAHL action continues for the Blaze as they host a 3 game home stand starting Friday November 20th, welcoming their closest rivals the ChiTown Shooters.
