August 26, 2009 - All American Hockey League (AAHL)
Evansville IceMen News Release

The All American Hockey League announced Wednesday that the Battle Creek Revolution, affiliate of the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League, will play the Evansville IceMen, an affiliate of the Ft. Wayne Komets, at the Ft. Wayne War Memorial Coliseum Friday, Feb. 12 at 8pm. The Revolution will take on the IceMen in an official All American Hockey League (AAHL) game.

The game is being touted as the "IHL Stars of Tomorrow Game". It will also be an attempted record setting game. The All American Hockey League will attempt to set the World Record for the highest attended "Single A" Hockey game in history. The current record holder is the Fayetteville FireAnts of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The FireAnts packed 9,385 people into the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC on November 4th, 2008 for their Military Appreciation Night.

"This is a great opportunity for the fans in Ft. Wayne and the entire MidWest to show who the best minor league hockey fans are," IceMen General Manager Chip Rossetti said. "We're challenging the people in Ft. Wayne and in the MidWest to come out and support this game and help us set the World Record. We would love to sell this game out and break the record."

"The entire Revolution organization is excited to have the opportunity to showcase our players and on-ice product to the great hockey fans of Fort Wayne", said Joseph Burkhardt, Revolution Co-Owner. "This is a chance for the younger players to be exposed to a big time atmosphere like they have probably never experienced before, it's a great time to make an impression in front of thousands of knowledgeable hockey fans."

The IceMen and the Revolution have also agreed that a donation from the net proceeds from the game will be made to a charity to be named later.

Ticket prices for this special record setting game range from $10.00 in the lower arena to $5.00 in the upper deck. Children tickets are $4.00 for any seat in the Coliseum.

Tickets to the Evansville-Battle Creek game will be included in all Komet season ticket holders packages at no additional cost to season ticket holders. Tickets will officially go on sale for this game sometime in late September.
