IceHogs announce date change to School Day game

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, proud members of the United Hockey League, announced Wednesday that their game on Wednesday, March 23 has been changed to Thursday, March 24. The move was made to accommodate the rescheduling of a Josh Groban concert that will take place on Wednesday, March 23 at the Rockford MetroCentre.

The IceHogs are slated to take on the Western Division rival Quad City Mallards at 11:05 a.m. during their first ever School Day Game. The IceHogs have teamed up with the Rockford Public School District and local six graders.

The Hogs have also partnered with McDonalds and Cadbury Adams to make this special game possible. For information about the IceHogs first ever School Day game, call the IceHogs office at (815) 986-6465. Season ticket holders should use season ticket #36 for the game.

All-Star Jersey Auction:

Three of this season's IceHogs All-Star representatives are auctioning off their Team Mountain Dew All-Star jersey for charity. Forwards J.F. Dufour and J.C. Ruid and defenseman Nathan Lutz will donate all the proceeds made from their jerseys to the Ronald McDonald House and the St. Judes Children's Cancer Research Center.

Ruid, Dufour and Lutz all started in last month's UHL Pepsi All-Star Classic in Glens Falls, New York. Ruid was named Team Mountain Dew MVP after scoring goals in regulation and notching a shootout goal. Dufour had two assists for Team Mountain Dew and also tallied in the shootout, helping Team Mountain Dew defeat Team Pepsi 7-6. Lutz is Rockford's only returnee from a season ago and has established himself as a fan favorite in Rockford.
